Mischie Palumbo, AMFT
Mental Health Associate, Justyn’s Corner Child and Family Counseling Center, Inc.
Mischie holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University Los Angeles and received extensive training at the Southern California Counseling Center, where she worked with individuals from diverse backgrounds facing a wide range of mental health challenges. She is deeply passionate about providing compassionate support to children, teens, and adolescents, understanding the unique emotional and developmental challenges they encounter during these critical years. Mischie believes that early intervention in mental health can be transformative, and she strives to create a safe, affirming, and supportive space for young people to explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences.
Beyond her work with youth, Mischie is dedicated to supporting women in the queer community and individuals navigating life transitions, complex trauma, anxiety, and depression, with a focus on the broader LGBTQIA+ experience. She values the importance of fostering a therapeutic space that honors each client’s identity and lived experience, empowering them to build resilience and self-acceptance.
With a Bachelor’s degree in Gender Studies from UCLA, Mischie brings an intersectional approach to therapy. Her academic background informs her understanding of how culture, race, sexuality, ethnicity, and religion shape personal identity and mental health. She integrates this awareness into her practice, helping clients navigate societal expectations while fostering personal growth and emotional well-being.
Mischie is committed to collaborative, client-centered therapy, drawing from mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, trauma-informed practices, and strength-based approaches to support individuals in leading fulfilling, authentic lives.
